Ishibotoke, Usuki

It is said that the national treasure Usuki Stone Buddha (Cliff Buddha), represented by the statue of Dainichi Nyorai, was sculptured from the late Heian period to the Kamakura period. It is not clear who built it for what purpose, and it is still surrounded by many mysteries.
It is a group of stone Buddhas representing Japan in terms of its size and quantity, and in terms of the quality of sculptures.
The adjacent Stone Buddha Park is full of seasonal flowers. Above all, from July to August, large lotus flowers are in full bloom, and the state looks like a paradise pure land.
