Usa-jingu Shrine Gojinkosai Festival (Natsuetsu Matsuri)

The most magnificent annual festival of Usa Jingu Shrine, the sacred festival (Natsuetsu Festival), was called "Oharaie" in the old days, and records of Saigyo have already been seen in the Heian period as Natsukoshi Shinto. You. The Shinko procession is led by Saru Tabiko as a guide, and the children of "butterfly", "birds" and "koma (horse)" dressed in vivid colors form a line. On August 1st, the middle day, the `` Yabusame Shinto '' was held on the approach to Ooyama on the precincts by the Ogasawara-ryu Kyuba technique, and a fireworks display was held on the night of the 2nd. The 44th Oita Tanabata Festival

The Tanabata Festival, where Oita City is dyed in full color.
The central shopping district of Oita City is colored with elaborate colorful Tanabata decorations, delighting passers-by.
On the first day, a float with brave lighting in the shape of a warrior and a rising dragon, "Funai Patchin", paraded vigorously, and on the second day, the venue became a pedestrian paradise and various events can be enjoyed.

Himeshima Bon Odori

Himeshima Bon, which was designated as a “National Intangible Folk Cultural Property” in March 2012, is said to have been derived from the Nembutsu dance of the Kamakura period, and there are traditional dances and creative dances, and traditional dances include fox dances and Aya dances.
